Gear Up to Meet the Business Intelligence Challenge

Determine business intelligence purchase and deployment strategies with help from a mobile app.

The need for solid, actionable intelligence continues to grow right alongside the number of vendors who promise to deliver the business intelligence (BI) goods.

According to a recent Gartner report, the worldwide BI and analytics software market grew to $14.4 billion in 2013, an 8 percent increase from the previous year. The firm expects that trend to continue as BI adoption accelerates and more players enter the BI marketplace.

“Half of BI and analytics spending will be business-driven, half of new license spending will be driven by data discovery requirements, and half of organizations will consider deploying BI in the cloud, at least tactically,” says Gartner Research Director Dan Sommer.

With so many BI and analytics solutions to choose from, and so many reasons to choose them, how should a company go about selecting the right BI product and technique to grow their business?

A good place to start investigating options is with CDW’s Technology Insights mobile app, which now features a new Business Intelligence edition. This latest edition includes information on how to get started with BI and how to align the technology with the business mission.

One particularly useful section connects readers at all levels (apprentice, early adopter and expert) to the specific multimedia assets and resources best suited to their level of expertise — from tips and case studies to how-to articles, videos and more.

Taken together, these resources can help an organization advance its journey to BI more effectively. And the sooner a company starts making better use of all the data at its disposal, the more competitive it will become.
