Adobe Creative Cloud 2015 Prioritizes Speed, Security and Seamless Integration

Improved sync technology, enhanced security for enterprises, first-of-their-kind Android apps and upgrades to 15 desktop tools distinguish the 2015 edition of Adobe Creative Cloud from all previous releases.

Launched June 16, the new version particularly focuses on streamlining workflows. Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC can now connect with Creative Cloud Libraries to offer in-app access to assets, and linked assets embedded in Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and InDesign CC can sync across all three programs, enabling disjointed teams to better collaborate on projects.

CreativeSync, a mix of existing and new sync technologies, lets users seamlessly switch between desktop software and connected mobile apps, bringing with them all necessary files, photos, fonts, settings and other design elements.

This deeper integration is accompanied by the rollout of Brush CC, Color CC, Photoshop Mix and Shape CC for Android, marking the first time Creative Cloud-based mobile apps were made available on that operating system. Adobe simultaneously released iOS updates to those four apps, as well as to Adobe Comp CC, Photoshop Sketch and Illustrator Draw.

For businesses as concerned with security as they are with workflow convergence, Adobe now gives enterprises the opportunity to use customer-managed encryption keys. Alternately, businesses can choose a new managed-service hosting option that lets them store corporate assets behind their own firewall.

The 2015 release also features a number of enhancements to Creative Cloud software, including:

• Photoshop CC: The introduction of Artboards lets users create multiple compositions in a single window. The new release also features real-time preview options and performance enhancements to Spot Healing Brush and Patch tools, which are now up to 120 times faster than they were in CS6.
• Illustrator CC: As a whole, the program is now up to 10 times faster than it was in CS6 and features 10-times-higher zoom magnification.
• InDesign CC: Now with twice the speed of its CS6 counterpart, the 2015 edition of InDesign lets users drag and drop images into tables, shade paragraphs and easily publish documents online.
• Premiere Pro CC: The program’s new Lumetri Color panel simplifies color correction, and its Time Tuner add-on adjusts the duration of content without the need for micro-editing.
• After Effects CC: Users can now customize preview options, animate 2D characters using their webcam and more accurately apply effects with advanced face-tracking technology.
• Dreamweaver CC: New functions make responsive design for websites a reality and provide real-time previews that show how pages would appear on mobile browsers.

A final feature, Adobe Stock, lets businesses browse, edit, and purchase stock photos, vector graphics and illustrations — all from within a Creative Cloud desktop application, making enterprise workflow that much easier.
